Virtual Event Presentation Kit

This is an internal Salesforce resource kit that allows product teams across Salesforce to create and produce their own virtual events.

When the shelter-in-place order was put out, we found ourself in a scramble to pivot from physical events to virtual events.

We were met with a series of challenges: the quality that we were used to meeting was in jeopardy, the “round the room” speaker training was no longer relevant, and our basic 16:9 slide templates felt out of date. Overnight, we were tasked to rethink the “stage” we presented from and so we started a series of “tester” events.

We pulled together a visual guide on virtual events, which has been a collaboration of the knowledge we gained after meeting with the experts on audience engagement and within the broadcast industry, as well as what we learned as we worked through the World Tour Sydney, TrailheaDX, and some additional smaller events.

As people across the company started having to put together their own virtual events and webinars, they were used to looking to our team for support and we were able to help them shift to the virtual midget and create an engaging visual story for their online viewers.

We consulted Nueroscientists and brainstormed with the best of the best in experiential storytellers to be able to pull in research on best practices and visual templates. Our team was then able to serve as consultants for cross-company virtual events to ensure the consistently high quality that Salesforce is known for putting out. See below for some snippets of our team’s visual best practices for virtual events.
